WORKING EXPERIENCEAfter graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical
Sciences in 1988,I have been working in Plastic
Surgery Hospital of Peking Union Medical College and
Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Now I am an
experienced attending plastic surgeon can perform many
kinds operations independently such as: lip and palate
cleft; free skin graft; pedicle flap ; free flap
,especially on breast reconstruction with free
perforator flaps using microsurgery skill. Meanwhile,
as the associate director of the anatomic and
pathological department, I am in charge of the
pathological diagnosis on all the patients in my
hospital. I have been working as a research fellow for
six months in the Department of Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery in Gent University Hospital.
Now I was selected as a recipient of the
International Scholar Program for 2000, was supported
by Plastic Surgery Education Foundation of U.S.A. For
6 months. I have to make a good plan because I also
was arranged to visit New Orleans and Los
Angeles,including the meeting in Chicago.COURSE EXPERIENCE
My thesis of Ph.D. is on autologeous breast
reconstruction. Completing the thesis was a very hard
work, demanding long hours in anatomic lab, animal
experimental lab, microsurgical practice lab. I feel
the experience of planning my time to best advantage
will be as valuable as the obvious analytical and
problem-solving skills inherent in the course. When I
was in Gent University Hospital (Belgium), I took part
in the clinical activities and assistant the
operations, meanwhile I did the microsurgery
experiment on animals, I finished every steps in the
procedures including general anesthesia on pigs. I
have been learning more about the advanced theories
and techniques on autologeous breast reconstructions
with free perforator flaps and been retrained on
microsurgical skill. Now, I was supported by Plastic
Surgery Education Foundation of U.S.A. to learn more
about the advanced theories and techniques on
autologeous breast reconstructions for 6 months inU.S.A.
